YOU ALLOW ME TO – TALK
Mit YOU ALLOW ME TO – TALK schaffen Marianne Lindow, Alessandro De Matteis und Michael Baumann eine Installation, die es den Besuchern des Quartiers am Hafen in Köln erlaubt, Künstler*innen des Hauses auf einer Ebene kennenzulernen, die erfahrungsgemäß sonst eher selten ist.
Durch die Puppen haben die Künstler einerseits Gelegenheit, in dem Tempo zu erzählen, das die Geschichte vorgibt; andererseits gibt Ihnen die Abstraktion der Puppe die Möglichkeit, soweit in die Intimität vorzudringen, wie sie möchten. Durch das Zusammenspiel von Videoprojektion und Tonmaterial mit den materiellen Puppen wird eine Parallelwelt geschaffen. Die Charaktere des Quartiers treten zu einer imaginären Familie zusammen. Die Installation verteilt sich im Erdgeschoss, im ersten und im zweiten Stock und findet ihr Finale bei Alessandro De Matteis im Atelier 2.78.
Die Installation ist zu sehen während der Museumsnacht am 4.11.2017 und am 10.11.2017 nach dem Konzert im Rahmen von „Musik in den Häusern der Stadt“.

With YOU ALLOW ME TO – TALK, Marianne Lindow, Alessandro De Matteis and Michael Baumann create an installation that allows visitors to the Quartier am Hafen in Cologne to get to know artists of the house on a level that experience has shown is otherwise rather rare.
On the one hand, the puppets give the artists the opportunity to tell their stories at the pace set by the story; on the other hand, the abstraction of the puppet gives them the possibility to penetrate as far into intimacy as they wish. The interplay of video projection and sound material with the material puppets creates a parallel world. The characters of the neighborhood come together to form an imaginary family. The installation is distributed on the first floor, the second floor and the second floor and finds its finale at Alessandro De Matteis‘ studio 2.78.
The installation can be seen during the Museum Night on 4.11.2017 and on 10.11.2017 after the concert as part of „Music in the houses of the city“.
